Wait a Minute! That IS your old Lawn!
Lawn service for a home requires special attention to detail. Green Expectations Professionals specialize in Acreages and Estates and take pride in their work to make sure your lawn is mowed quickly and cleaned up properly. Our regular lawn service program includes grass mowing, weed eating, edging, and blowing clean. Properly maintained landscaping can do wonders for the appearance and the overall looks of your property.
Lawn mowing is what is done more often than any other lawn service. Properly mowed lawns have fewer weeds, better moisture stress tolerances and an overall healthier look than those that do not. We use the best mowers and sharpest blades to cut your grass. Our blades are sharpened on a regular schedule to make sure that your grass has an even, clean cut and will not damage your lawn. We mow at the proper height for your type of grass and have the experience and know-how to care for your lawn.
Your Green Expectations Professional can determine where and when your lawn can benefit from adding new seedlings (also known as overseeding) into your existing lawn to promote overall turf health and development. We can also determine when an old worn out lawn should be replaced with a more tolerant variety ... or if might be more cost effective to use sod instead.
Newly seeded lawns need to be watered daily and kept moist. Your Green Expectations Professional will keep on top of the situation, making sure that your grass is growing like it should.
Properly fertilized lawns are better at preventing weed infestation, drought and disease. They also help the environment by producing oxygen, cooling the air during hot weather and trapping and absorbing dust and pollution.
Green Expectations uses a unique 5 point fertilization process. Our fertilizers are made from natural ingredients including nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. The process feeds your lawn at the proper time, depending on your blend of grass and time of year.
Our fertilizers and process provide your lawn with the nutrients they need, producing strong roots and the ability to resist weeds, disease and insects.
Worried about weeds this year? Many weeds grow in lawns, flower beds and sometimes even in planters. Weeds are often carried by the wind, dropped off from shoes, pets and even from a passing vehicle.
Weeds are often introduced by mulches or compost materials. Remember, a weed is merely a plant growing in the wrong place at the wrong time. They look awful and many have large leaves that shade grass and rob water and nutrients from your yard.
The very best way to keep weeds away is with a healthy lawn and regular maintenance. If you have the proper watering, mowing, fertilization and insect and disease control, your grass will out-grow the weeds.
Don't let weeds take over the lawn you enjoy. You don't have to spend all weekend pulling them either. Hand pulling is practical but only in small spaces but you have to get the entire root out and bagged and disposed of. Green Expectations uses a pre-emergent (which means prior to weed growth) herbicide. If there are already weeds growing, a post-emergent (which means after they have grown) can be sprayed to kill just the weeds. Occasionally, weeds may even grow in mulch. Unless you have unlimited time, unlimited patience and special know how, just let your Green Expectations Professional take care of all this for you as part of a complete lawn maintenance program.
Lawn aeration is the secret weapon in making your lawn healthy.
Aeration involves making holes in the lawn by what is known as "coring" (which means extracting a plug of soil). By aerating your lawn with coring, you provide several important benefits to the grass and its root system. First, oxygen gets to the roots and the soil allowing it to "breathe". Then organic fertilizers and nutrients get easy access to the root system, and water is able to better soak the soil and reach the roots. Aeration helps break up thatch. Finally, any tight compacted soil is loosened, making it ideal for the root system to grow.
Aeration is best done in early Spring or late Fall. Your Green Expectations Professional will determine which is best for your lawn, but typically Fall is the best time to aerate. This way, when snow melts, it goes into the cores and holds moisture.
Whether you just bought a home or have an older home or acreage that needs a lawn sod renovation, new sod may be the best solution.
We have all heard the old joke "Green Side Up!", but installing sod right is a lot more than that. We've laid new sod on hundreds of lawns. Green Expectations has the experience and knowledge of preparing the surface, laying down the sod and providing that beautiful green lawn you always wanted ... normally on the same day.
If you have an underground sprinkler system, we locate the pipes and work around them to make sure they are not damaged. If you don't already have sprinklers, this may be a good time to consider adding them. Having a properly working sprinkler system can be an essential part of a successful sod installation and will help your new lawn last longer. We can help you with sprinklers too.
